The FlyOver Perception + Why You Should Book Your Place Now

Frederich Nietzsche said “All things are subject to interpretation. Whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

What is your interpretation of the term “flyover?”

I know choosing to use that term in the name of the FlyOver could give the interpretation that there is no value for those who reside on the coasts. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

No matter where you’re from, the FlyOver Tech Fest provides the platform for tech leaders to tell how they built killer tech companies and the lessons they learned along the way.

As Kyle Campbell said in this fantastic tweetEven though Vancouver (where he lives) is on the coast and is a vibrant city, it’s certainly not SV (Silicon Valley). I’ve learned a lot over the last 10 years starting up outside of SV and I hope I can share a few of my lessons learned along the way at this wonderful conference.

So far, we have speakers from 2 countries and 5 states with many more to come.

Why Should I Book My Place?

Since I know you’re very likely virtual summited out by this point I thought it would make sense to detail a few of the takeaways you can get from the speakers we announced last week so you can see the value of booking your place.

Kyle Campbell - As Kyle eluded to in the tweet above, he’s learned a lot of lessons along the way. One of them is how he pitched Stuart Butterfield (founder of Slack) on a plane, which happened to turn into a $7.5mm investment.

Takeaway - Tangible lessons from bootstrapping growth to scaling with technology

Gregory Bailey - Gregory transitioned to the Midwest from California for a CMO role for a major insurance company only to decide to jump into the startup world. He has founded five businesses, the most recent Denim - who just received a large round of funding and merged with Gremlin Social out of St. Louis to form Denim Social.

Takeaway - The marketing foundation that led to success in startup tech companies

Katie Patterson - Katie’s journey from advertising and account management to founding Happy Medium, a full-service digital creative agency that has grown to achieve more than 800 percent revenue growth in their first four years is very impressive. Their growth has been made possible by finding and molding talent.

Takeaway - Lessons learned and tips for finding and developing talent

Robby T. -  Robby Trefethren is a lead geek. There are few and far between who know the science and physiology of sales as Robby. Coming from politics, Robby used to go door-to-door knocking on stranger's front doors pitching them on his candidate. Through that, he has mastered sales and marketing outreach that not only gets leads to respond but helps them feel heard, understood, and valued leading to better relationships and better close rates.

Takeaway - The science of sales scripts that convert leads the right way

If you’re interested in hearing how others have turned their ideas into thriving companies the FlyOver Tech Fest is just the place for you. There will be more dynamic speakers announced in the coming weeks.
